About the Millinery

My millinery consists of deliciously romantic, glamorous, or stylish period pieces.  Some hats are soft and casual.  the elegance and style of the years between 1920 and the 1950's hold special fascination for me, and my designs are strongly influenced by vintage style millinery of that period.  In my collections you will find many types of cloche hats.  The cloche hat has taken new forms but has never disappeared since it was first designed in the 1920's.

All of my hats are hand made of the finest available materials.  They are hand blocked and hand finished using time-honored millinery techniques.  Trims often contain vintage items or special hand made novelties.  Silk and velvet may be hand dyed to coordinate with the hat body.  Each finished product is unique, a work of art.

My millinery has been featured at fashion shows, juried events and boutiques throughout the United States.

Choosing millinery is a very personal event, and helping a customer find the perfect millinery is the greatest satisfaction that I have in being a milliner. 

When I meet with a woman at a show or in my studio we not only talk about the occasion for the hat and the type of millinery that she likes, but I also counsel her on the best shape, brim size and color in a hat to compliment for her face, figure and complexion.  My goal is for her to FABULOUS!

When you order a hat from mmmhats.com, I offer consultation time either by phone or email to help you make the best millinery choice.  Your new hat will be made to fit your head size.  You are encouraged to "mix and match" from selections on the site.  Flowers, trims and colors can often be changed.  I am happy to send digital photos of color possibilities and other variations.
