This is just such a hat, a dark purple/ plum cloche trimmed with a purple silk charmeuse band that has been finished in an elegant bow.
When I get the hat base, called a hat body, it looks like a bucket, impossible to wear. I use steam and muscle to stretch it over a wooden hat form, called a block. It is pinned and tied in place. Once it has dried, I remove it from the block and treat it with a product to help it retain the shape. After that I insert the head size band and wire the brim. All of the sewing on my hats is done by hand. Finally the hat is trimmed. It is a lengthy process.
This hat fits a head that measures 22.5 Inches. Be sure to measure your head before you order.
