Fashioned from fine, hand-woven, parasisal straw this hat is suitable for a wedding or any other special occasion, which might include simply looking your most stylish. The straw is a clear lipstick red and so lightweight and comfortable to wear you may forget that you are wearing a hat. The only trim here is a red, millinery grosgrain tie.
The Parasisal straw is hand woven in Asia and takes an experienced weaver 5-7 days to make. I take their product, which looks like a bucket that you could never wear, and shape it into what you see in these photos.
This traveler measures approximately 8 inches across the crown and has an additional fold at the very top. The 3.5 Inch brim. It is just right for spring, summer and in some places fall as well.
This hat sits high on the head and resembles styles from the 1930s. A narrow millinery elastic, common in 1930's hats, is attached. It is to be stretched to the back under your hair to help keep the hat in place. Because this hat is shaped entirely by hand of hand woven straw, there are slight irregularaties in the lines.
This straw hat should not be worn in the rain.
Head size on this is 22 -23" and adjustable because of the exterior ribbon. If you require a size great than 23", let me know this might work with a little touching up.
